We host Bideford tomorrow at the Jubilee, kick-off 3pm.  The Devon club were relegated from the Southern League Premier Division last season.

Like Evesham, they won their FA Cup preliminary round tie, but only after a replay.

They had to go to Bodmin in midweek to progress, while Evesham had a Tuesday night off after their win at Market Drayton Town last Saturday.

Collicutt has taken the opportunity to give his players a breather ahead of a big weekend.

“We play Shortwood United away on Monday and by the time these two games are over, we’ll know whether or not we’ve had a good start to the season or not,” he said.

“The lads won in the FA Cup and then trained well on Tuesday, so I have given them Thursday night off.”

Striker Lance Smith is away, while captain Matt Sysum has fluid on his knee, but is expected to be fit to play.

Defender Will Wellon missed training on Tuesday night, so he will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game, while Carl Brown and Liam Harding are out, but Jake Sloggett is back in training after his injury.

Collicutt also welcomes back number one goalkeeper Kev Sawyer, who has missed the last four games.

“Sam Gilder has done well and it’s been a good test for him, keeping two clean sheets in his four games,” Collicutt said.

“But Kev is my number one and he’ll come straight back into the team.”
