Having previously said that there would be no further statements from the committee, we now feel that it is necessary to comment, following Salisbury’s most recent statement and the social media comments seen since, in order to ensure clarity and to attempt to avoid any further misunderstandings.

Whilst we acknowledge the statement issued by Salisbury FC regarding one of the incidents that happened with our sports therapist, we are disappointed that we and our sports therapist, were not consulted about its contents or advised prior to its release on to the club website and social media platforms. At this point we have not been made aware of the comments admitted to by this supporter, so we are not able to comment directly on the individual’s punishment, although generally we would hope to see admissions of guilt being dealt with in a manner that are considered just and also are a deterrent.

The Football Association are fully investigating all aspects of the events that took place and we intend to await their findings and decisions before making any further comment.
