Evesham United F.C. Match Reports Latest Match Reports, by Mike Peplow. Tipton Town v Evesham United 19/09/07 (F.A. Cup Replay). Tipton Town 0 Evesham United 2 Evesham will travel to play Unibond Division One South Quorn on Saturday 29th September in the 2nd qualifying round of the F.A. Cup after this first qualifying round win, at a wet and windy Wednesbury Oak Road. A Goal in each half saw Evesham run out worthy winners and pick-up £2,250 in prize money. Despite a slow start, Evesham took the lead after 13 minutes. After a handball, Simon Fitter curled in a delightful free-kick past Danny Watson from 20 yards. Substitute Allando Davis made it two with his first touch after replacing Danny Lennon with four minutes to go. He dummied a defender on the half way line and ran unchallenged to fire past Watson. Tipton's misery was completed in injury time when substitute and former Evesham player Lee Bullimore was sent-off for a crude challenge on Liam Givans. Evesham United: Vaughan, Watson, Givans, (Hayden), S. Hands, Wood, M. Hands, (Scheppel), Fitter, Sheehan, Owen, Lennon, (Davia), Clarke. Subs not used: Hicks, Dipple. Referee: Attendance: 80. Evesham United v Tipton Town 16/09/07 (F.A. Cup). Evesham United 1 Tipton Town 1 Evesham United paid the price for missing a hatful of chances in the first half. They must replay in the first qualifying round of the F.A. Cup at Midland Alliance Tipton Town on Wednesday Night. An inspired performance by Tipton Keeper Danny Watson and same wasteful finishing meant Evesham had to wait 38 minutes before taking the lead. Aaron Hamilton's sliced clearance following Simon Fitter's free-kick, was seized on by Mark Owen who headed home from a couple of yards. Evesham went into their shell for the whole of the second half and were rocked when their lower graded opposition equalised through Chris Turner in the 52nd minute. Some last ditch defending by the home side after coming under the cosh for long periods enabled Paul West's men to hang on for the draw and live to fight another day. Evesham United: Vaughan, Watson, Givans, S. Hands, Wood, Lutz, Fitter, Scheppel, Owen, Lennon, M. Hands, (Clarke). Subs not used: Davis, Knott, Sheehan, Dipple. Referee: Mr Andrew Newell (North Yate, Bristol) Attendance: 111. Evesham United v Rushall Olympic 08/09/07. Evesham United 0 Rushall Olympic 1 An Evesham performance lacking in quality and imagination, resulted in a ordinary Rushall side taking all three points, in a poor game of football at St George's Lane on Saturday. The only bright spot of a shocking Evesham display was the debut of Worcester City defender, Danny Hodnett. He looked a class above his new team mates who struggled to put two passes together all game. Evesjham's only noteworthy shot at goal saw "Pics" keeper, Tony Beedon save well from Joe Clarke in the opening five minutes. That was as good as it got. After the break, Rushall number nine Gary Birch crashed a shot against the underside of the Evesham bar before the visitors grabbed the winner on 68 minutes. Birch found space on the edge of the Evesham box before finding Justin Rowe, who calmly fired past Nathan Vaughan. Evesham threw men forward in search of an equaliser but never forced Beedon into a single save. Evesham United: Vaughan, Watson, Clarke, (Davis 67), Hodnett, Hands, Lutz, Fitter, Scheppel, Owen, Lennon, (Sheehan 83), Givans. Subs not used: Wood, Hayden, Dipple. Referee: Mr Simon Snartt (Bristol) Attendance: 83. Evesham United v Gresley Rpvers 01/09/07 (F.A. Cup). Evesham United 1 Gresley Rovers 0 There is no report for this game. Mike Peplow was away. Evesham United 2 Malvern Town 0 Evesham's unbeaten start to the season continued after this hard fought but in the end, comfortable win against their Worcestershire neighbours at St George's Lane. Showing one change to the starting line-up that defeated Willenhall on the opening day, Evesham made the perfect start going ahead after eight minutes. Mark Owen dispossessed Kamaron Abbassi and fed Danny Scheppel who expertly put away his second goal in two games. Evesham continued to call the tune with Owen and Steve Lutz both going close before the break. Malvern's first shot on target arrived twenty minutes into the second half with Vaughan easily gathering from the hard working Daniel Harding-Hall. Owen found himself faced with a one on one with Lewis Skyers but the Malvern keeper saved well with his body but he was beaten for a second time with seven minutes remaining. Daniel Lennon with his back to goal turned two defenders and forced his way into the box before giving Skyers no chance with a powerful finish. Evesham United: Vaughan, Watson, Sheehan, Hands, Wood, 9Hicks 72), Lutz, Fitter, Scheppel, (Hayden 85), Owen, Lennon, Givans. Subs not used: Green, Davis, Dipple. Referee: Mr Edward Smart (Smethwick). Attendance: 161. Evesham United v Willenhall Town 18/08/07. Evesham United 1 Willenhall Town 0 A goal eight minutes from time by newcomer Danny Scheppel got Evesham off to a winning start in the British Gas Midlands Division. The goal arrived after Reds keeper Steve Jackson had saved from Danny Lennon, Mark Owen's shot was then blocked on the line but Scheppel swept home from six yards. Earlier Willenhall had a great chance on 67 minutes to take the lead. Peter Wood tripped Craig Gregg in the box but Mark Briggs spot-kick was well saved by Nathan Vaughan. The first half belonged to Willenhall who found Vaughan in top form. Twice the keeper made important saves and when he was beaten, skipper Steve Lutz cleared off the line from Steve Palmer. The second half was a more even affair. Jackson saving from Lennon and simon Fitter, he could only watch Mark Owen glance a header narrowly wide. Tyrone Barnett had the visitors best chance but blasted over when well placed. Evesham United: Vaughan, Watson, Green, (Sheehan), Hands, Wood, Lutz, Fitter, Scheppel, Owen, Lennon, Givans. Subs not used: Blake, Eastell, Davis, Dipple. Referee: Mr Mike Bingham (Leamington Spa). Attendance: 97.
