Evesham Utd Ladies 4 Bartestree Ladies 2

On Sunday an impressive youthful Bartestree Ladies were the visitors to Evesham on a cool cloudy day. Evesham were playing direct football using the wind and goalkeeper Lisa Cropper’s long clearances.  While Bartestree were playing a passing game they went close when a cross from the right only needed touching home.

On seven minutes Evesham went in front when a shot from Rosie Johns 25 yards out flew over the keepers head. Then Kelly Folkes had a similar effort that just went wide. Bartestree drew level on 16 minutes through a good passing move and went in front soon after.  Evesham levelled on the stroke of half time when a cross from Sophie Griffiths found Sam Scully who finished well in the top right corner of the net.

The second half Evesham upped their game being stronger in the challenge and closing the space down quickly winning the midfield battle and putting through balls to the forwards of which Sam Scully made it 3-2 with another cool finish. The defence of Jess Newman, Millie Meadows, Kelly Fowkes and Nicole Maher were all having good games snuffing out any danger in sporadic Bartestree attacks. Five minutes from time Scully completed her hat trick  and Evesham in the end won comfortably after being second best in the first half.
