Manager Paul Collicutt insists Evesham United have got their “work cut out” to stay in the FA Cup as they host Newcastle Town in their preliminary round replay tonight (7.45pm) according to the Worcester News.

Mat Liddiard cancelled out Jordan Cole’s early strike as Evesham claimed a 1-1 draw in Staffordshire on Saturday.

Collicutt felt it was a “fair result” but admits his side will need to be at their best to secure a first qualifying round tie at Stratford Town on September 2.

“We need to be very focused because Newcastle impressed me,” Collicutt said.

“The FA Cup means a lot to the club and the players.

“But Newcastle proved they are no pushovers by a long way so we have certainly got our work cut out.”

Striker Greg Peel, who has been struggling with a hamstring problem, is set to have a late fitness test.

But midfielder Carl Brown has been ruled out with a facial injury despite Collicutt admitting it was not as bad as first feared.

“Carl took a whack in the face and had to go to A&E on Saturday night as we thought he had broken his cheekbone,” Collicutt added.

“I am glad to say the X-rays show he is OK and he has been given the all-clear. But he will not be involved because it is still very painful.”
