Evesham United bid to put a poor start to the season behind them by enjoying success in the FA Cup tomorrow writes Steve Carley of the Worcester News.

Shaun Cunnington’s Robins have picked up just two points from their first four Calor League Division One South and West matches, losing 6-0 at Wimborne Town in the process.

Tomorrow, they take on Midland Combination Premier Division high-fliers Bolehall Swifts in the FA Cup preliminary round at the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium (3pm).

It is the ideal opportunity to kick-start their campaign and, with £1,925 for the winners, generate welcome funds.

Although Evesham’s recent record in the competition does not make for great reading – they have fallen at the first hurdle in two of the last four seasons – fans only have to go back to the 2008-09 campaign when they played Torquay United in the first round proper.

Neil Barnfield starts his three match suspension after being sent off in the season opener.  Richard Mansell is still out injured.
