Evesham United Ladies 0 vs Hereford LC Ladies 1

Evesham went in to the top of the table clash with Hereford LC with only 11 players due to injuries. Evesham started strongly against the wind but the final ball was just to strong. Hereford were looking dangerous on the break and took the lead on 10 minutes when a high ball from the right was headed in from close range. Evesham’s response was instant but half chances weren’t taken and Hereford defended well. Just before half time Evesham had a let off when a high ball caught out keeper Lisa Cropper but bounced just wide.

The second half started with Hereford on the front foot with the Evesham keeper saving well on more than one occasion. Griffiths had a shot for Evesham that skimmed the top of the bar. Then with the wind becoming gale force and the rain getting torrential the play got scrappy on a soaked surface with the ball being more out of play than on the pitch. Hereford hung on to win when a draw would have been a fair result. Well done to all players and supporters for seeing out the game in atrocious conditions.
