Evesham Utd Ladies 1 vs Bridgnorth Ladies 2

Evesham entertained Bridgnorth Ladies on a cool cloudy Sunday afternoon and after early pressure the visitors took the lead with a fine shot over the Evesham keeper.

It took Evesham fifteen minutes to have a chance on goal when a free kick from Rosie Johns never troubled the keeper. The rest of the half was hard fought with chances at a premium, with two visiting players booked for dissent and Sam Scully blazing over when well placed for the hosts in a lacklustre display.

The second half started with Evesham making changes and upping the tempo but Bridgnorth had a good chance to score but the shot was high. Evesham levelled when a great cross from sub Jess Dodsworth  found Emily Young who scored with a fine finish on the edge of the area for her debut goal.

With Evesham pressing  they were caught out at the back with a long ball over the top and the impressive visitors forward scored with a cool finish. Evesham looked for the leveller and Scully and Millie Meadows were denied by the visitors keeper  when being sent clear. The last fifteen minutes saw the visitors up their game having lots of possession and comfortably saw out time giving them a deserved victory.
