Matt Clarke’s side got their first pre-season victory under their belts with a resounding win at West Midlands League Premier Division Malvern Town.

United controlled the game throughout after racing into a 3-0 lead inside the opening half hour.  Player-coach Neil MacKenzie got the ball rolling on 10 minutes after Luke Corbett had been fouled just outside the box.  The former Kidderminster Harriers’ midfielder netted with the resulting free-kick that slipped through the grasp of Town keeper, Ian Hill.  Hill was at fault for the robins second goal eight minutes later dropping Leigh Downing’s corner at the feet of Roland Agbor who lashed the ball in from close range.  Agbor then turned provider crossing to Pav Gierdl for a simple tap-in to make it 3-0 after 24 minutes.  United scored a fourth with the first half drawing to a close, the impressive Downing got on the end of Luke Corbett’s inch perfect pass to fire home an unstoppable drive past the advancing Hill.

Six minutes after the re-start Agbor got his second and Evesham’s fifth, cutting in from the left and beating two Town defenders before finding the bottom corner.  soon after it was 6-0, Marcus Palmer showing a neat turn and finish after good work by the tricky Agbor.

To their credit Malvern never gave up and Lewis Loader pulled a goal back with a well struck drive.  Palmer then went close to notching a seventh before the end, striking a post with Hill beaten as United ran out convincing winners.
