Out-of-sorts Evesham crashed to their heaviest defeat of the season after a disappointing display at Plain Ham which handed an ordinary Larkhall side all three points in the Evo-Stik Southern South & West Division. United looked a pale shadow of the side that finished runners-up to Merthyr Town last season eventually losing to Larkhall in the play-offs, and apart from a decent spell at the start of the game rarely showed any creativity or desire to get something out of the contest.

Fresh from the midweek FA Trophy success against Chasetown, United, however, did begin with a spring in their step and twice early on Dan Macdonald tested Lark`s keeper Kyle Phillips and then George Washbourne got to the byeline but no colleague was on hand to convert the winger`s low cross. Unfortunately for the good number of United supporters that travelled to Bath, that was as good as it got because after this it was downhill all the way. Larkhall went on to make the breakthrough after 32 minutes when livewire Dean Griffiths turned Ashley Williams inside-out on the left and from his fine cross the unmarked Ollie Price headed home into the bottom corner. United struggled to create clearcut chances but should have levelled on the stroke of half-time only for Lance Smith to get himself into a tangle with only Phillips to be beat.

The next goal would be decisive and Larkhall got it five minutes after the re-start when Williams dithered on the ball allowing Jack Camm to dispossess the United midfielder before racing away and beating Kevin Sawyer for 2-0. United made changes in an attempt to freshen things up but little changed and the final nail in Evesham`s coffin duly arrived on 70 minutes when the hardworking Griffiths kept his nerve before placing his shot beneath Sawyer to give the cock-a-hoop hosts a match winning 3-0 scoreline. With the game already won, Larkhall took their foot off the gas but Phillips was never called upon to make a save, Liam Harding and Carl Brown ballooned shots over his crossbar and then Josh Egan made a last-ditch block to prevent Adam Mann a late consolation for Paul Collicutt`s well beaten troops.
