Evesham put in another scintillating performance this afternoon with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Bath-based Larkhall Athletic who had been on a four match unbeaten run.
It was Evesham’s biggest home win of the season and a memorable day for striker Lance Smith who struck four times.
Larkhall took the lead in the 12th minute when Joe Tumelty scored. Evesham levelled after 25 minutes when Nick Stanley’s good work set up Smith to score.
Early in the second half Adam Mann put a great low cross in from the left and Smith scored from close range.
In the 78th minute Smith completed his hat-trick after a fantastic Lorcan Sheehan cross and he headed home.
On 86 minutes a great though ball from Leroy Odeiro found fellow substitute Mark Magee who sprung the offside trap to run at goal and coolly finish past the keeper for his first goal for the club.
In the very last minute of added time, Smith was brought down in the box by keeper Ben John who was given a straight red. Smith easily put away the penalty for his fourth.
