Evesham crashed out of the play-offs last night beaten 3-0 by visiting Larkhall Athletic in front of a crowd of 686.  A penalty converted by Sibbick after just 6 minutes put the home side on the back foot.  Larkhall then added two more goals through Hobbs and Griffiths on 35 and 40 minutes, it could have been more but for keeper Kevin Sawyer.  Evesham did come out in the second half with a lot of purpose, but were unable to convert the chances created in the first 15 minutes.   It never looked like being Evesham’s night and with no further goals they went down to a 3-0 defeat.

Despite the loss Evesham showed great spirit to reach second place in the table off the back of a record breaking run on one defeat in 28 and reaching the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round.  It is interesting to note that 2nd placed Poole Town in the Southern Premier League finished 15 points ahead of 5th placed St. Neots Town and lost, plus Royston Town in the Central who finished runners up also lost last night.  It must be a curse!
