Evesham United Youth recorded a comprehensive victory in their first Midland Floodlit Youth League match of the season on Monday.

As early as the 2nd minute, the Malvern goalie was called on to tip a header from Sam Lucas onto the bar, and this pressure continued until a corner was flicked home by Dan Tustin in the 15th minute. It quickly became 2-0, when on his debut, a Tom Leonard shot found the net after another great cross from Brad Izod. Further sharp passing saw a long distance shot from Tustin hit the bar. At the other end, Nathan Taylor made an excellent save to maintain Evesham’s clean sheet.

In the second half the Malvern keeper was again by far the busier, making a number of saves as Evesham continued to press. However following a good through ball, Leonard beat the keeper to score his second goal. Tom Ravenhall then also got on the score sheet on his debut with a header from another corner. Tustin completed the scoring with a driven shot. After a month of training, this was an excellent first performance from the entire team and it gave the coaching team and supporters lots to be positive about.
