Evesham United completed their home fixtures in the Evo-Stik Southern South &  West on a winning note, thanks to two goals by Luke Corbett. The Robins striker scored in each half to claim a well earned three points at a sun drenched  Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium.

Once again departing manager Paul West had to call on a number of youth team players to make-up the numbers due to suspension and injury. After a cagey opening, Corbett lifted Evesham spirits by opening the scoring after 17 minutes. A ball over the top from Chris Jackson caused hesitency in the visitors defence allowing Corbett to round Tivvy keeper Chris Wright before firing home into an unguarded net.

Corbett, who returned last month from Halesowen Town for a second spell, struck again eight minutes into the second half. Jared Wilson`s throw-in was collected by James Blake who made ground down the right before crossing to the onrushing Corbett who stabbed home a first-time shot past Wright. Despite United taking a two-goal lead, it was Tiverton who then went on to enjoy their best spell in the game. Former Evesham player Lewis Tasker wasn`t far away with a well struck drive and then home keeper Ben McNamara, a spectator for most of the match, then made flying saves to touch over goalbound shots from Tivvy substitute Max Bristow. But it was Evesham who finished the game on top. Corbett could have claimed a hat-trick, Leigh Downing and Leon Kandekore both blazed over and a good run by Richard Mansell ended with Downing curling a free-kick just wide of an upright.
