Evesham United guaranteed a home play off match with this fine 5-1 victory at sixth placed Didcot Town this afternoon.  Cheered on by a good number of away fans, Evesham took the lead in the 10th minute when Adam Mann scored from 20 yards.  Two minutes later it was 2-0 following a foul on Lee Smith in the box, Matt Sysum scored with the resultant penalty.  On the half hour Pablo Haysham tapped in after a long range shot was parried by Kevin Sawyer.  It was 2-1 to Evesham at half time.

Didcot started the brighter in the second half, but it was the visitors who scored the important next goal when after good work from Lee Smith, Marcus Jackson bagged Evesham’s crucial third goal on 67 minutes.  Eight minutes later it was 4-1 with Lance Smith scoring with a superb volley.  Lance Smith added his second in the 90th minute with a side foot home after good work from the impressive Lee Smith.

So that is eight consecutive wins and one defeat in 26 games.  An amazing run of form and may it continue!  We remain one point behind second placed Stratford Town with 2 games remaining.  We have Tiverton Town at home and Bridgwater Town away, whilst Stratford have two away games at Clevedon Town and champions Merthyr Town.
