Evesham continued their fine form today with a hard fought 1-0 victory over a good Mangotsfield side who on another day may have done enough to earn a point.

Evesham had the better of the first half with the best chance falling to Sean Wood in the 40th minute when his shot hit the corner of post and bar.  Then a minute before half-time a Wood free-kick was headed home by former Mangotsfield player and skipper Matt Sysum to give the home side a deserved lead.

However in the second half Mangotsfield started well creating three good chances to score.  Evesham struggled to impose themselves on the game, but managed to keep a clean sheet and stay in a play-off position in 4th place.

The home side have now won 10 and drawn two of their last dozen games.  That is also eight games in the run without conceding a goal.

EVESHAM UNITED: Sawyer, Wood, Wellon, Harding (Wilson 56), Sysum, Dovey, Jackson, Stanley, Edenborough (Smith 82), Mann, Washbourne (Knowles 75).
