Evesham’s twelve match unbeaten run came to an end against league leaders Merthyr Town today in front of the highest league crowd seen since the move to the Jubilee Stadium.  437 supporters witnessed a tense feisty affair with the only goal of the game in the 25th minute when Corey Jenkins’ shot went in off the far post.

Evesham had the strong wind behind them in the first half but failed to create any clear cut chances.  The second half saw the home side create more pressure as the second half wore on, but a well-organised Merthyr side stood firm meaning the keeper was not tested enough.

Overall both sides cancelled each other out and any creativity was stopped by the biting wind.

Evesham remain in 4th and in the play-off places.
