Evesham lost their fourth match in five games going down to league leaders Merthyr Town at the Jubilee Stadium tonight.

On a cold but dry evening, the visitors deservedly took the lead on 18 minutes through Ryan Charles.    Evesham came more in to the game, but against the run of play went 2-0 down a minute before half-time with a shot from Kayne McLaggon.

After the break the game was a more even affair with Michael Tambling hitting the post midway through the half.  However on 76 minutes substitute Ian Traylor netted to make it game over at 3-0.  Evesham were given some hope when substitute Marcus Palmer pulled a goal back on 83 minutes, but a defensive error on 87 minutes saw Ryan Prosser seal the points for the league leaders who remain six points clear at the top.
