New manager Paul Collicutt saw his side defeat cup heroes Shortwood United at the Jubilee Stadium today.  He gave debuts to ex Bishops Cleeve players Lee Davis and James Vercesi. In very difficult conditions Evesham had the advantage of a very strong wind in the first half which they exploited to the tune of two goals from Lance Smith on 18 minutes and Vercesi on 38 minutes.

In the second half Evesham maintained their good form, although a Duncan Culley effort on 75 minutes for Shortwood saw the home side defending solidly at the end to secure a vital victory.

Evesham went up four places to 13th with this win.

Attendance: 208

Evesham United: Bateman, Wilson, Mansell, Millard, Dovey, Barnfield, Davis (Magee), Holloway, Smith, Lewars (M. Jackson 45), Vercesi (Sherry 88)
