Evesham Ladies took on Droitwich Belles on Sunday with a fully fit squad after struggling for numbers lately. Evesham were on the front foot from the start being camped in the Droitwich half creating many chances. They eventually took the lead when Sam Scully scored with a firm drive from 20 yards out. This soon became 2-0 when Diane O’Hare squared to Hannah Campbell who shot home from close range. Jess Newman sent a shot over, then a cross from Sophie Griffiths found Millie Meadows who lobbed the keeper to make it 3-0.
The second half started with Evesham having most of the possession, but the momentum was missing against a mediocre Droitwich side with the Evesham back line and keeper having a comfortable afternoon. Griffiths was putting over numerous crosses and Grace Harker plenty of quality corners with which Droitwich cleared.
Evesham took 25 minutes to score again when Meadows chipped the keeper. Griffiths found the net soon after with a shot from the right that hit the post and rolled in the corner. Meadows completed her hat trick with another fine finish. The only downside was a bad ankle injury to Diane O’ Hare who had a fine game in midfield.
