Evesham pulled off their best result of the league season last night with a single goal victory in Wales at Merthyr Town.  The league leaders had not lost at home this season.

Merthyr were on top in the first half creating the best chances with Evesham defending resolutely.

In the second half in difficult conditions with the rain sweeping down the ground, Merthyr had more of the possession without creating any clear cut chances.

However it all changed with ten minutes to go when Nick Stanley turned in a cross from just inside the area.  Evesham secured their fourth consecutive win without conceding a goal and moved four places up the league table to 8th, just outside the play-off places.
