Evesham lost tonight’s Red Insure Cup match at Stratford Town.  Playing a weakened team in view of the FA Cup match on Saturday, the visitors had the best of the opening exchanges with Aaron Drake testing the keeper with a couple of shots and Kevin Slack having an effort cleared off the line.  In the 24th minute a Jack Watts effort was also cleared off the line before Simeon Tulloch put the ball in the Evesham net but it was ruled offside.

After a 13 minute delay due to the linesman having an injury and unable to continue, the second half started quietly with few chances created. Stratford took the lead in the 69th minute when Richard Gregory scored after a Tulloch shot was parried out.  In the 83rd minute a penalty by Tyrone Fagan ensured league leaders Stratford passage to the second round.
