Evesham Ladies took on their third away match in five weeks after 6-0 and 4-1 victories, in a fragmented start to the season. Today’s opponents Wyre Forest Ladies FC who play at Wolverley near Kidderminster are improving. Arriving with only ten players due to departures and players missing, Evesham Ladies took the game to their opponents. Within five minutes Kirsty Jones had a shot saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Wyre were only looking dangerous from set pieces. Fourteen minutes in,  a through ball from Rosie Johns found Grace Harker who slotted it under the keeper to make it 1-0.Further chances came for Johns, Griffiths and an audacious chip from Katie Meadows. Half time score 1-0 to Evesham Ladies.

Second half, Wyre Ladies came out looking more determined and within five minutes had equalised the score. Johns for Evesham with her positive running was making chances for others and herself but the shooting was wayward. Evesham pushed Millie Meadows into midfield then up front, looking for a winning goal. Evesham were awarded a penalty fifteen minutes from the end of the match, which Johns kicked straight at the goal keeper. At this time Wyre ladies were reduced to ten players through injury. Within five minutes Wyre broke down the right and a square ball found a team member who slotted it home. A further mistake at the back from an Evesham square ball found an opponent who slotted it home. With seven minutes to go Evesham, who had further chances just couldn’t score.
Summary, good performance from Evesham Ladies with only ten players but missed chances cost them the game.
