Manager Paul Collicutt believes his two new signings can boost Evesham United in the end-of-season run-in writes the Worcester Journal.

Midfielders Nathan Jackson and Ben Evans have joined the Robins from West Midlands League side Wolverhampton Casuals and Midland Alliance outfit Causeway United respectively.

Jackson, cousin of Evesham attacker Marcus, has previously played for Tamworth, while Evans was on the books at Shrewsbury Town.

Both made their debuts in Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat at Swindon Supermarine but, despite the result, Collicutt believes they showed plenty of promise.

He is now looking for a better outcome from tomorrow’s Calor Southern League Division One South and West match at Tiverton Town (3pm).

“I thought the performance as very good and the result was poor,” Collicutt said. “There were a lot of positives that I could take from it, especially the two new players. “We were the better side for 65 minutes but we got done by three set-pieces. There were a lot of encouraging signs.”
