Evesham United are hoping defender Matt Williams will be fit for Saturday’s match at Bideford.

The former Cheltenham Town and Gloucester City centre-half was forced off during the first half of the home win over North Leigh last week after a bang to the head.

Leroy Odiero, who replaced him in the 34th minute that night, is not available for the trip to Devon.

Midfielder Nick Hancock and forward James Campbell will both have a game for the Under-21s on Saturday morning, while Lorcan Sheehan is away and will miss out.

Central defender Nick Rhodes has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury, feeling discomfort during an Under-21 appearance last weekend.

Evesham boss Paul Collicutt has been able to work with his players on the training ground during an 11 day gap between games.

“We trained last week and again on Tuesday night, but we are giving the lads Thursday night off ahead of a long trip on Saturday,” he said.

“Bideford have had a good start to the season and speaking to people who have seen them or played against them recently, they are a big, physically strong side. They scored five against Cleeve in the FA Cup last weekend and it’s a hard place to go and take points, but we will go there and hope to get something.”
