Elliot Kennedy returns to Evesham United’s squad for Saturday’s trip to Taunton Town.

The winger has been struggling with a hamstring injury, but he is fit and boss Paul Collicutt is also hoping Forest Green loan youngster Louis McGrory will be in the squad.

McGrory suffered a hamstring injury two games ago, but will be given a late fitness test.

Jordan Bryan is available, but Lorcan Sheehan and Lewis Binns are both suspended.

Collicutt was left frustrated on Tuesday night, as many of Evesham’s players and staff had either arrived at Didcot Town, or were very close, before the game was postponed due to frozen pitch.

They now resume their attempt to claim a 12th successive victory, which would be a new club record.

“Taunton are in a false league position (14th) due to their FA Cup run,” Collicutt said.

“The fact they forced Barrow to a replay speaks volumes for their team and also football at our level.

“It’s the strongest league I’ve known and if we can win 12 in a row it would be a great achievement for everyone.”

Collicutt believes teams are raising their game against Evesham, who have moved to within eight points of table topping Hereford, who they are yet to play this season.

“We are cannon fodder really, with clubs knowing the run we are on and it’s getting bigger and bigger every game,” he said.

“It will be a very difficult game at Taunton and then we play Tiverton Town at home a week later, so these two games will show if we can handle it.”

Collicutt has praised midfielder-turned-defender Liam Harding, who has played in 11 wins and a draws since moving into the backline.

“This is Liam’s third season with me and I always told him his future was at centre-half, not in midfield,” Collicutt said.

“He didn’t agree when I told him, but I’d like to think he does now because he has been a big plus for us this season.

“He was injured against Cheltenham in pre-season, but since coming back he has been ever present and results have been pleasing.

“He has also chipped in with a few goals, which is an added bonus.”
