Evesham United will look to get back on the goal trail in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West when they host Winchester City tonight (7.45pm) according to the Worcester News.

The third-placed Robins were made to work hard in a 1-0 home win over bottom club Bridgwater Town on Saturday.

Manager Paul Collicutt said Bridgwater’s decision to put “11 men behind the ball” made life difficult for his side as Adam Mann’s first-half strike proved enough.

But he insisted it did not excuse their performance and urged his players to be “on the front foot” against Winchester.

“We need to go out and score more goals,” said Collicutt whose side have scored three times over their last three games.

“Our standards are high and on Saturday they weren’t as good as they had been.

“We can’t afford to have an off-day against Winchester as they are a team who have won quite a few games recently.”

Attacker Carl Brown has been ruled out with a groin injury but midfielder Jordan Bryan is available and teenager Alfie Haskayne is set to make his first start since joining from Slimbridge last week.

Winchester are in eighth place after Craig Feeney hit a hat-trick in a 4-3 win over Shortwood United at the weekend.

Collicutt added: “It is a home game so we have got to be the ones on the front foot.

“It’s a very important game to consolidate our position in the top five so we are looking to gain three points.”
