Captain Linden Dovey is poised to return as play-off chasing Evesham United aim to see off Barnstaple Town at the Jubilee Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

The Robins have been without the midfielder since he injured his ankle in a 1-1 draw with North Leigh in late January.

Manager Paul Collicutt says he is delighted to welcome Dovey back into his side for the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South and West clash.

Striker Paul Fahy is also in contention after recovering from a groin problem which has kept him out for five weeks.

“Linden will go straight back into the side as he is my skipper and he is a very good player,” Collicutt said.

Forward Elliot Kennedy (chickenpox) and defender Leroy Odiero (broken fingers) remain sidelined.

Evesham ended a five-match winless streak with a 2-1 victory at Larkhall Athletic last Saturday, but Collicutt was frustrated to see winger Carl Brown get sent off.

Top scorer Lance Smith and midfielder Archie Haskayne are also suspended Collicutt said: “We need to keep 11 players on the pitch to give ourselves a chance as we have not done that in the last three games. We have had three players sent off and it has cost us.”
