Evesham United Colts Under 13s won the Ambassador Evesham League Cup this morning defeating Littleton 2-0 in the Final played at Pershore Town FC.
In their first ever appearance in a Final, Evesham created most of the chances in the first half which finished goal-less. However early in the second half, Evesham were awarded a penalty which was coolly slotted home by Hayden Buttle. Evesham sealed a deserved victory with five minutes left when Tom Francis scored with a glancing header.
A good game played in the right spirit, as it was a “local” derby.
In the words of an under 13 parent in respect of the late Dave Giles, “I’m pretty sure that there’s a little Welsh guy with a limp out there somewhere, wearing a baseball cap, an Evesham United rain jacket and big smile”
