13.9.15 Evesham United Ladies 7 vs Welland Ladies 0

Evesham Ladies started the new season with a home game against Welland Ladies with a new look team with four debutants and two former players.

From the start Evesham applied all the pressure with shots off target and the Welland keeper making many saves. Evesham eventually took the lead on 19 minutes when Sam Scully netted after being sent clear. This soon became two when Grace Harker raced clear and shot in the roof of the net.  Soon after it was three when Mel Devereux finished with ease.  An own goal and another from Scully made it 5-0 at half time.

The second half was a more even affair with substitutions and injuries and change of formation for Evesham. Rosie Johns Evesham’s stand in keeper looking confident on her line and dealing with high balls as Welland looked more threatening on goal. She was replaced in goal by Jess Dodsworth midway through the second half moving to midfield which increased the tempo. Scully scored two further goals, one being a scorcher with her left foot.
