Former Evesham United chairman Stuart Reeves has died after a long illness.  He was chairman over two periods, from 1987  to 1992 and again from 1993 to 1998.  He was in his late 60’s.

Stuart was one of the four people who saved the club from going out of business in the early 90s and was very popular with players and supporters during his time in the Chair.  Despite his illness he was able to attend games at the Jubilee Stadium and would take his place in the Director’s box with his friends on the Evesham committee.  He was Life Vice-President of the club and an avid West Bromwich Albion supporter.

A minute’s silence will be observed before tomorrow’s home match with Hungerford Town.

Current chairman Jim Cockerton said “He will be very sadly missed.  He was a character and Evesham United through and through”.
