Evesham earned a place in the Central Warwickshire U18 Open Cup Final v Wolves Girls after a hard fought win against Coventry City.
It was Coventry who started the better and pegged Evesham back early on however the United Girls with the speed of wingers Sophie Griffiths and Hannah Lowerson on the wings looked dangerous on the break.

After fending off a few Coventry corners Evesham started to get a foothold in the game with Hannah Watts, Millie Meadows and Hannah Kedward taking a grip on midfield. After 20 minutes it was Watts who fed a ball through to Evesham striker Zoe Pygott who slipped the ball under the keeper for an Evesham lead. The midfield battle continued with Coventry continuing to push and a minute before half time their striker slipped through the Evesham defence only to be denied by a great save from Clare Hampton the Evesham keeper to keep the game 1-0 at half time.

In the second half Coventry continued to have a lot of possession but the defence of Amy Campbell, Lauren Cowley, Kelly Fowkes and Beth Guy were keeping them at bay, with Evesham pushing for a second goal with swift breaks and from one of these Hannah Campbell burst passed the City defence to shoot past the keeper from an acute angle and seal the victory for the Evesham Girls. Special mention should be made of Rosie Preston, Laura Powers and Shannon Murphy who were also instrumental in the victory. Date of final is yet to be confirmed.
