Saturday’s brace helped the Robins overcome stubborn Slimbridge 2-0 in Southern League Division One South and took to 12 goals from eight starts the 22-year-old hitman’s tally.

Simpson, the youngest of five brothers who ply their trade in non-league circles, had already plundered eight for Frome Town in the division above but a fractious relationship with the manager there saw him seek pastures new.

And after linking up with siblings Kye and Cory at Evesham he has not looked back.
