Bartestree Ladies 0 vs Evesham Utd Ladies 1

Evesham Ladies travelled to Bartestree to play their unbeaten hosts and a tough game was expected.

The early exchanges saw Evesham defending well not giving Bartestree any clearcut chances.  Going forward with Emily Young using her pace and the midfield battling hard and newcomer Anna Howes chasing through balls up front, Evesham took the lead when good hold up play from Amy Summers found Young who crossed to Howes who still had a lot to do, put poked the ball in at the near post despite Bartestree calling for a foul.

The second half started with Evesham making changes with Domi Mayhew pushed up front and Natalie Potter and Jess Dodsworth coming on. Evesham still looked the better side and should have added to their tally with Jess Newman shooting wide and Rosie Johns hitting the top of the bar.  Howes and Young also went close.  Bartestree pushed for an undeserved equaliser and their only clearcut chance came from a rare Hollie Rea mistake, but the forward shot over the bar and from a corner Young headed straight at keeper Lisa Cropper, who had a competent game coming off her line to clear the danger in a great team display.
