Evesham travelled to Kidderminster to play Cookley Ladies looking to bounce back after the previous weeks 3-0 away defeat at Droitwich Belles when only eight players were available.

On a cold afternoon the play was pretty even with the midfield pair of Domi Mayhew and Grace Harker battling away in midfield winning plenty of the ball trying to find the pacy Emily Young and Summer Collishaw. Cookley looked dangerous wide on the flanks with centre backs Hollie Ree and Millie Meadows clearing their lines well. The hosts took the lead just before half time from their speedy right winger who calmly netted.

Evesham came out for the second half fired up and Domi Mayhew had many shots from distance go just over or saved by the keeper.  Against the run of play Cookley scored their second from a corner not being cleared by the visitors defence.  Both sides then hit the woodwork with Emily Young who was having a fine game denied after a great run on goal.

A battling display but ultimately defeated.  Sunday’s match with Droitwich Belles has been postponed.
