Ladies Secure Draw

Evesham Utd Ladies 1 vs Ludlow Ladies 1

Evesham Ladies welcomed Ludlow Ladies on a bright sunny day with only nine players available on Sunday.

Ludlow took the initiative,  with two good chances in the first few minutes, but their shooting was wayward.  Evesham were reduced to 8 players after only 5 minutes through injury, but through hard work and commitment held on until Ludlow eventually scored just over the half hour from a corner not being cleared.

Evesham did have a couple of chances late on in the half, but Mel Devereux shot over from a free kick and Grace Harker shot wide when through on goal.

In the second half keeper Rosie Johns was moved to midfield with Tash Bryant going in goal. Evesham were now back to nine players  and looking more menacing going forward.  Grace Harker being denied by the keeper or shooting wide when well placed. Evesham did eventually score when Rosie Johns went round the keeper to score into an empty net. With Evesham tiring Ludlow upped their game looking for the winner, but the home side bravely held on for a draw with Sam Perry outstanding in defence.
