END OF SEASON THOUGHTS OF OUR MANAGER MIKE FORD

Football can be a very unforgiving place when you travel with high expectations to a play off semi final and come away with a 3-0 loss and the season is over. We fought valiantly on the night, but credit must go to Hamworthy and I wish them all the best in the final on Monday.

The highs and lows have been encapsulated in the space of a few days. The victory against all the odds on Saturday and the disappointment of Wednesday.

The players deserve a huge amount of credit. We are a new group, some I inherited and others that I recruited during my time in charge. They have gelled brilliantly and represented the club in a committed and caring manner. I could not have asked anymore from them.

My staff, Anton, Byrney and the medical department have been a joy to be around. They have shown great support to me and the players, I could not wish for a better group of people to be working with.

Chris, the board and other staff members have been brilliant, we have worked together to achieve a common goal, one which ultimately we fell short of, but one we had a right go at.

The supporters have been fantastic, the highlight being Bideford a couple of weeks ago. Large numbers, supporting the team from start to finish and enjoying the victory with the players, staff and board members in the bar after the completion of the game.

Finally we have a brilliant football club, a togetherness that some don’t and one that we should be very proud of and cherish.

Enjoy the break and see you all in pre season.

Mike
