Evesham United turned on the style to thump neighbours Bishops Cleeve 5-0 at Kayte Lane and claim their first victory of the season in the Southern League Division One South & West.
Once the Cleeve defence was breached for the first time, the game turned in United`s favour who ran the Villagers ragged with a performance of high quality, energy and deadly finishing.

Despite the final scoreline, there was little to choose between the two sides until two quick-fire goals on the half-hour put the Robins firmly in control. Former Worcester City striker Ethan Moore got United`s first on his debut, chesting the ball over the line from Jack Watts` flighted cross. Sixty seconds later, Lewis Binns` delivery from the opposite flank found Watts whose first-time drive gave Cleeve keeper Paul Tassell no chance for 2-0. It soon became three on 38 minutes when Jamie Robinson tripped Marcus Jackson in the box and Jared Wilson confidently despatched the resulting penalty past the helpless Tassell.

HALF-TIME: BISHOPS CLEEVE (0) EVESHAM UNITED (3)

United were rewarded for starting the second-half on the front foot when within a minute Elliot Kennedy ghosted in at the back post to turn in Sean Wood`s flag-kick to make it 4-0 to the rampant visitors. Moore and Kennedy were just off target before the goal of the game arrived on 53 minutes. Jackson`s ball over the top left the Cleeve defence flat-footed allowing Ashley Edenborough to race away and find the top corner of the net with a fantastic dipping volley. With three points in the bag, manager Paul Collicutt rang the changes but still the Red and Whites continued to dominate the contest. Wilson`s stinging drive flew inches wide of a post and late on Linden Dovey blazed over after Tassell had failed to deal with Binns` inswinging corner.
