Only the visiting section of the 227 spectators that visited The Jubilee will have gone home happy, the ‘Faithfull’ Robins fans were not amused by what can only be described as a very mediocre performance.

As the game got underway there was every reason to believe that we had a contest on our hands, with both sides making an attempt to play some good passing and attacking football, sadly that came to an end when Winchester got their opening goal in the 10th minute of the game, they had had an opportunity just a minute before when Mlambo’s shot went over the bar having intercepted a poor ball being played out of the Evesham defence.

The visitors first goal came when a pass into the box was met by their captain Jamie Barron who was able to get a shot off from 6 yards, he managed to squeeze the ball under Hannah.

With Evesham unable to capitalise on any of the few mistakes that Winchester were making the home supporters were becoming more restless, their seemed to be no consistency in The Robins game. With ‘The Citizens’ playing the better and more attacking football it was no surprise that they took their single goal lead into the half time break.

The second half offered very little more in the way of fluent football from the hosts, yet another poor pass out of the Evesham defence gave Mlambo yet another chance, he scuffed his shot with the ball going wide of the post.

Evesham’s only real opportunity of the second half came through a Kane Simpson free kick in the 67th minute, his shot from 20 yards went straight into the keeper’s hands.

The home fans misery was doubled when on 78 minutes when a header down the centre of the box found substitute Tyrell Mitford, his flick was enough to find the back of the net and send the handful of traveling fans wild.
