Evesham who finished the game with nine men produced the worst performance of the season going down without a fight against a poor Winchester City side.  The second half dismissals of Tom Warmer and Roland Agbor didn’t help matters as goals at the start and finish of the game put paid to any hopes United had of extending their unbeaten run to three games.

United made the worst possible start falling behind on five minutes.  Ryan Woodford’s corner was met at the near post by skipper Mike Byrne whose powerful header found the back of the United net.  Evesham huffed and puffed for the rest of the half constantly giving the ball away and failing to create a clearcut opening in front of goal.

Things got worse leading up to the hour mark when influential midfielder Warmer was sent off for a second yellow.  Despite their man advantage Winchester were content to sit on their lead but always looked dangerous on the break.  From one such break, the visitors put the game to bed with a second goal one minute from time.  Leading scorer Michael Charles held off several challenges before finding the top corner of keeper Dean Coleman’s net.  A miserable afternoon for the Robins got worse when Roland Agbor became the second Evesham player to be dismissed for a late challenge in stoppage time.
