Evesham remain winless in the Calor League Division One South & West but collected a well deserved point against newly promoted Stratford Town in this Bank Holiday fixture at the Jubilee Stadium. Stratford, promoted from the Midland Football Alliance, levelled with ten minutes to go, this after Marcus Palmer with his 3rd goal of the season had given the Robins a 65th minute lead.

Depleted through injury and unavailability, United had the better of the first half exchanges with Palmer twice getting behind the Stratford defence only to drag his shot wide on both occasions. Then young Town goalkeeper Sam Brady was at full stretch to touch over Jared Wilson`s pile-driver from 25 yards.United`s Matt Sysum made a brave last-ditch challenge on Stratford`s Phil Green at the start of the second-half and at the other end Brady saved at the second attempt from the dangerous Palmer.

But it was United who got their noses in front when Palmer headed home from Daniel Holloway`s excellent delivery from the right.Palmer forced Brady to save with an outstretched leg after collecting Andre Rodrigues`through-ball and racing clear only for the visitors to find the net next. Former Evesham player Simeon Tulloch made ground down the left before picking out substitute Richard Gregory who rounded keeper John Bateman before sliding the ball home. Neither keeper was seriously tested after this and despite a late rally from the hosts the spoils were shared.
