Evesham United had to come from a goal down to beat a stubborn Bolehall side 2-1 to book a place in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.  Second half goals by Carl Brown and Marcus Palmer was enough to beat the Midland Combination Premier Division outfit who deservedly led at the interval.

Jared Wilson tested Bolehall keeper Tom McNulty early on, but it was the visitors who went on to boss the remainder of the half culminating with the opening goal on 21 minutes.  Skipper Nick Heath’s shot fell at the feet of Chris Sturridge-Packer who comfortably found the net from close in. It could have been worse for out-of-sorts Evesham when leading up to half-time Steven Day rolled his shot agonisingly wide with stopper John Bateman beaten.

Kyle Turner dispossessed Matt Sysum at the opposite end but failed to find the target, before the winning goal arrived on 63 minutes. Michael Tambling got to the bye-line before crossing to Palmer who stroked in the 4th goal of the season.  Before the end, the better chances fell Evesham’s way.  Debutant Lance Smith, a second half replacement for Linen Dovey, had a goal disallowed for offside and then in added time he just failed to get a touch on Brown’s cross in front of a gaping goal.
