Evesham United returned to winning ways in the Calor League Division One South & West thanks to Marcus Palmer`s stoppage-time winner against basement side Fleet Town at the Jubilee Stadium.

United trailed to Jack White`s goal with fifteen minutes to go but hit back through substitute Joey Smith before Palmer got on the scoresheet to hand Evesham their first win in four games. Prior to White`s opener, the game was largely forgettable with both sides guilty of giving the ball away and chances in front of goal few and far between.

In a low key first-half, Fleet edged possession without testing home stopper Louie Barnfather. The closest the Hampshire outfit got saw White shave the United crossbar with a well directed header. Evesham`s best moments had Lance Smith getting between a couple of Fleet defenders before pulling his shot wide and Palmer prodding the wrong side of an upright from Joe Eyre`s cross.

The early stages of the second-half belonged to Evesham resulting in Palmer firing into the side netting and both Lee Davis and Marcus Jackson having shots blocked when well placed.
Fleet, however, with just one away win this season, stunned the home crowd when White got on the end of a right wing cross to give the Blues a shock 75th minute lead.

With the clock ticking down, Joey Smith bundled the ball in for United`s equaliser on 83 minutes after the Fleet defence had failed to clear Richard Mansell`s free-kick. Suddenly Evesham sensed victory but a series of corners and free-kicks failed to produce a winner, that was until livewire Jackson burst down the right and crossed from the byeline to the unmarked Palmer who calmly slotted in his 8th goal in twelve league starts to complete a rousing comeback by the jubilant Robins.
