Evesham United 2 vs Exmouth Town 0

Promotion push continues for Mike Ford’s Evesham United

Evesham United moved to fifth place in the table on Saturday afternoon as they comfortably beat Exmouth Town at the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium.

A first-half double from forward Jordan Lymn was enough for Mike Ford’s men in the thick Worcestershire fog.

The success in front of goal began early into the game; three minutes was all it took for Lymn to break the deadlock.

Following continued pressure from the hosts, Evesham’s number 16 was on hand 11 minutes later to bag his second of the game.

From then on, Exmouth never looked to be a threat to Edward Brearey’s goal as midfield dominance from The Robins, and some good strength on display from Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham, held the visitors at bay.

Despite an effort from Evesham’s Kyle Belmonte that could have been mistaken for a low-flying aircraft, the home side jetted off to a two-goal victory.

Mike Ford’s men face Willand Rovers on Wednesday in an attempt to continue their good start to 2023.
