Evesham United are still without a victory in the Calor League South & West Division after suffering a 3-1 defeat at top of the table Paulton Rovers. The Robins are now just one place off the bottom and winless after five games.

Despite the scoreline there was little to choose between the two sides and it was United who dominated the first-half but still went into the break a goal down. Brandon Barnes` cross from the left was met by Mike Perrott who headed Rovers in front three minutes before half-time.Prior to the goal, leading scorer Marcus Palmer shot into the sidenetting, home keeper Kyle Phillips brilliantly saved from Carl Brown and then Linden Dovey when faced with an open goal blazed high and wide.

United were made to pay for not converting in front of goal when Barnes added a second on 62 minutes after Jake Harris had struck a post. Brown pulled a goal back from Mitchell Botfield`s corner before James Loney became the second Evesham player to be sent-off this season for collecting two yellow cards.

For the last twenty minutes United`s ten-men pressed for a deserved equaliser but were caught on the break in injury-time. Barnes` punt upfield was seized onto by substitute Klein Davies who rounded keeper John Bateman before netting Paulton`s third and a flattering final scoreline for the league leaders.
