An under strength Evesham side failed to prevent Stourbridge from reaching their third successive Worcestershire Senior Cup final after the Glassboys ran out 3-0 winners in Tuesday nights semi final at Amblecote.  Evesham were  more than a match for their Evo-Stik Southern Premier Divison hosts, but two goals in the final eight minutes booked Stourbridge a place in the final against Kidderminster Harriers or Redditch United.

Neither side went close to breaking the first half stalemate until Drew Canavan pounced three minutes before half time to volley Stourbridge ahead.  Evesham continued to give as good as they got in the second half, forcing home keeper Lewis Solly to make a splendid reflex save from Henry Eze’s header then gathered well from the hard working James Blake.  With time running out, United were caught twice on the break to give the tie a flattering scoreline.  Eze was harshly adjudged to have fouled Leon Broadhurst in the box and Sean Geddes converted from the spot, then in stoppage time Luke Benbow got behind the United defence before finding the net with a sweetly struck finish past Tom Cross.
