Evesham secured a vital win in the pursuit of the final play-off place defeating sixth-placed Mangotsfield United at the Jubilee Stadium today.  However the victory was tarnished as influential defender Liam Harding broke his leg during the second half.

The only goal of the game was scored early on in the 11th minute when Paul Fahy playing in a central striking role set up midfielder Jordan Bryan to finish well.

Evesham dominated the first half for chances and in the 35th minute a Liam Harding effort hit the woodwork.

The second half saw the Mangos start brightly but again Evesham were thwarted by the crossbar, with a Matt Williams header striking it which is the closest the hosts came to scoring.

With the end of match stats showing 19 shots on target for Evesham and just 2 for the visitors, this was a deserved victory and should have been by a wider margin.  Evesham need three points from the remaining three games at Bideford, home to Hereford and at AFC Totton to secure a play-off spot.
