Evesham United Football Club is saddened to learn of the death of former Robins player Neil Emms last Friday.

Neil played for the club in the late 80s and early 90s. “Emmsy”  also played in both Evesham Old Boys vs Manchester United Legends matches in 2011 and 2012.

Speaking to the Worcester News, manager Paul West said: “It’s really sad news. He was very well known in the area and was a real character. Emmsy was not just a fantastic footballer, but a fantastic person as well. There wasn’t a dull moment in the changing room with him. I didn’t play with him but when I came back to the club 16 years ago he was getting towards the end of his career. He’s going to be sorely missed. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.”

Evesham United would like to send our condolences to Neil’s friends and family.

The club are planning a minute’s silence before Saturday’s home match versus Wimborne Town.
