Manager Paul Collicutt says Evesham United will need to sharpen up in front of goal if they are to see off North Leigh at the Jubilee Stadium tonight (7.45pm) according to the Worcester News.

The Robins boss believes his side played some “decent football” in their 2-0 defeat at Paulton Rovers in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One West on Saturday. But he insisted they paid the price for their inability to convert chances as goals from Kailan Gould and Sam Hedges secured the hosts victory.

“We got off to a really bad start as they scored an absolute worldie within the first two minutes and we were chasing the game after that,” Collicutt said. “We hit the post and the bar. We had chances throughout the game and then they scored a goal to finish us off with about 10 minutes to go so I am bitterly disappointed.

“We are at home to North Leigh which is going to be a very difficult game and we will need to be in the right frame of mind for it. “The biggest thing for us is we are creating chances but not finishing them off at the moment. “We have been playing some decent football but we need to take our chances.”

There are doubts over the fitness of midfielder Bradley Gray and striker Adam Mann who both sustained knocks against Paulton.

“Bradley tweaked his hamstring and Adam has had a slight pull at the top of his leg,” Collicutt added. “We are not 100 per cent sure how they are so they will both have fitness tests today.”
