STATEMENT FROM EVESHAM UNITED FC

As a club, we were shocked and very upset to hear that one of our coaching/physio team, was verbally abused on a number of occasions yesterday whilst carrying out her job for us, by so called supporters of Salisbury FC, on account of her gender.

We wish to place on record our full support for Ally, who is an excellent physio and a highly valued member of our squad, and we are speaking with her and the authorities about how to proceed.

We acknowledge the support given by Salisbury FC directors immediately after the incidents, and the statement that was issued this morning via their website and social media. We are hopeful that a full investigation will be carried out by Salisbury FC and that those to blame will be identified and suitably punished.

This type of behaviour and offensive sexual verbal abuse has no place in football or society and we hope that this is an isolated circumstance.

We will work very closely with the Southern League, County FA and National FA with regard to this incident over the coming days, and moving forward to ensure that we continue to support and embrace the involvement of all in our national game, at Evesham United FC.

At this stage we will not be making any further comment on this matter until the various governing bodies have been consulted.
